Default Demo And Live accounts

hi there!

i have had a demo account for a while now, and really like the platform and analysis tools available -much better than others i have encountered!!

i was considering opening a live account and wanted to know if there were any differences between the 2?

cheers

The difference between demo account and live account:
  • Functional capabilities of the demo account and the live account are the same.
  • Losses and profits on the demo account are virtual. No financial risk is involved, as you do not invest money.
  • On the demo account deals are processed automatically (by the server) whilst on the live account they are processed manually (by a dealer). Making a trade usually takes 1-2 seconds on the demo account and 5-15 seconds on the live account (under normal market conditions).
  • On the demo account you can trade on spikes. A spike is an obviously wrong quote which appears in MetaTrader 4. On your live account you will not be able to trade at such prices.

Concise reply, thanks. I am using demo and like the results and therefore am seriously considering moving my account to you.
1) You say live accounts are dealt in 5/15 secs under normal market conditions. What about in news time, do you prevent rapid fills during these times?
What about limit and stop to open? Are these filled at the requested prices during heavy volume?
2) what is your policy on scalping? Basically, what is the minimum time one can can hold a trade?
3) when will you be offering UK indices on the Metatrader platform, you said "early 2007" when I last contacted you?

Thanks
David

"Abnormal Market Conditions can cause delays in the process of execution of about 30-40 seconds or more. The standby time for each Instruction or Request which has been placed in the queue in order to be executed has a limit of 3 (three) minutes at the time of the release of our Terms of Business" (Terms of Business, p. 2.7)

When the order level falls within the price gap on the market opening or under abnormal market conditions, the order is executed by the company at the quote which is presented in the quotes flow during the process of order execution. Buy Stop, Sell Stop or Stop Loss is executed at the level less profitable for the Customer; Buy Limit, Sell Limit or Take Profit is executed at the level more profitable for the Customer.

No restrictions.

As for UK indices I'm afraid I can't give you the exact date right now. We are going to start offering Futures and CFDs in the nearest future.

Thanks for your rapid reply.
I have opened a live account with you this morning.

Will there be an announcement via the Metatrader platform regarding the new markets?
Regard

Yes. The news will be sent via MetaTrader internal mail and also posted on the website.
