Live trading journal - trend breakthrough with Avonko EA
Hi all,
I want to take a moment to say thank you for welcoming me to the Aplari forums - while I am a veteran trader I am relatively new to the online forex community, and I look forward to sharing my experience and learning from others. I am currently putting the Avonko EAthrough live testing and tinkering with the settings to fine tune the system to properly fit my needs and optimize performance on the most robust pairs. I am using the latest version available, and simply experimenting with the settings to develop a strategy that appropriately fits my needs. With my demo testing account the system proved to be extremely profitable, and I am hoping to translate that success into significant profits now. Currently I am trading the EURJPY pair and experimenting with adding the GBPUSD. My current settings allow for a sl 3x the magnitude of the tp, trading on a $5k starting balance risking no more than 3% on any one trade. Here I will return every day to post my daily trading results and discuss which settings I am currently employing to achieve those results. I will also discuss my strategies for trading day selection, and hopefully within the context of the discussion we can perfect the usage of the system, clearly to the benefit of us all. Again, thank you for welcoming me to your forum, and I look forward to sharing my trading results in the weeks and months to come. wed apr 1 trade log: +30 pips on morning rally, +60.60 in account
Posted another win on the rally this morning in EURJPY:
+2 eurjpy 130.25 take profit 130.55 net gain: $60.60 balance: $5120.60 net profit/loss running: +120.60 (+2.4%) |

thurs apr 2 trade log: +30 pips/+60.60 real money balance
Today's trade:
+2 eurjpy 131.69 take profit 131.99 for another gain of 30 pips +$60.60 in real money balance account balance $5181.20 (+3.624% net) some thoughts... As my balance increases slightly I am considering increasing the lots traded from 2.0 to 2.1 so as to reflect the larger base I am now trading with. I am also considering tightening the stop/loss a bit so as to not give as much back on the inevitable losing trades, as each of these winning trades where we ride the short term trend has come without any retracement. Any thoughts? Elton |

no trades made yet this morning, so closing week +3%
Not much of a move this morning in the eurjpy, so no trades made yet
pending a sharp break to the downside or a spike this morning or early afternoon. Here are the trade triggers the system set forth which have yet to be hit this morning: buy eurjpy 135.03: t/p 135.33: s/l 134.13 sell eurjpy 133.08: t/p 132.78: s/l 133.98 Have a good morning everyone, Elton |
