New IP settings for MetaTrader 4 Classic accounts from Sunday 13th December 2009

MetaTrader 4 Classic accounts - server upgrade from Sunday 13th December 2009

Due to the significant growth in the number of accounts opened in 2009, and to maintain the highest quality of execution, we are significantly upgrading our server capacity.

From Sunday 13th December, Alpari (UK) Classic accounts will be managed via two separate, dedicated servers. A proportion of Classic account holders will be managed through the new server and those account holders will require new IP address settings.

The server upgrade will be completed by midnight GMT on Saturday 12th December so that trading can continue without interruption at market open at 23:00 GMT on Sunday 13th December.



Who does this affect?
Classic accounts requiring action: Account No. 1 - 299999
For these accounts, ?Classic 2? will be the dedicated server and should be selected from the MetaTrader 4 login drop-down menu.

Classic accounts requiring no action: Account No. 300000 or above
Clients whose Classic accounts require no action can continue to use MetaTrader 4 as normal.

PLEASE NOTE: The new version of MetaTrader 4 does not contain new functionality and has been developed to incorporate new IP address settings only.

From Sunday 13th December onwards, if you download the new version of MetaTrader 4, for instance to install on another computer, you should select ?Classic 1? on the ?Server? drop-down menu.



We recommend that you check that your account is fully accessible before market opening on Sunday 13th December at 23:00 GMT.



How to ensure you have the right settings loaded
1. Download the new version of MetaTrader 4 with new IP settings pre-installed
Downloading the new latest version of MetaTrader 4 with the new IP address pre-loaded is the most convenient way of updating your IP address setting.

After you have downloaded the new version, login in the normal way. You will see your dedicated server - either ?Classic 1? or ?Classic 2? - listed in the drop-down ?Server? menu.

The new version of MetaTrader 4 will be available from Sunday 13th December onwards. Please note that when you download and login for the first time, you will see in the server drop down menu a choice of options:

? Demo
? Classic 1
? Classic 2
? Micro 1
? Micro 2
? Pro

*The Pro account will be introduced in January 2010.

Until the server upgrade is effective at midnight GMT on Saturday 12th December, please select ?Classic 1?. After the server upgrade please select ?Classic 1? or ?Classic 2? depending on your login number.

Download the new version of MetaTrader 4



2. Change your IP settings manually
If you are unable to download the new version of MetaTrader 4 for any reason, you can change your IP address setting manually.

Classic account holders requiring new IP settings will need to update them at the first opportunity AFTER midnight GMT Saturday 12th December.

To change your settings:
1. Open MetaTrader 4
2. Select ?File? then? Login?
3. In the ?Login? field enter your Alpari (UK) Login/account number
4. In the ?Password? field enter your password
5. In the ?Server? field enter either of the following IP addresses:

If your login number is 1 - 299999 or above:
84.45.12.150
193.46.204.146
84.45.118.35
89.238.157.27



6. Click ?Login? to access your account

If your login number is 300000 or above:
You do not need to change your IP address setting
