View Full Version : Alpari versus 5/3 decimal place

Alpari is one of the best Fx platform with good reputation from their customers (visit forexpeacearmy), also, traders from my country do appreciate their service.
About indictor(s), this is good weapon for patient traders which are developed by good ones (individual / groups) from all parts of the world. No matter how good you’re in price action, studying of chart pattern and candle stick e.t.c you still need one or two (or more) of this indicators to confirm your trade.
Just of a sudden, by last week I notice that Alpari’s chart can’t open, I have to contact my fellow traders; most of them told me the same thing. By Sunday evening it was now opened with 5decimal place and 3 decimal place for Yen (JPY) currency. I felt so bad due to the following reasons:
1). Alpari doesn’t notified us (their customer) both traders with live and demo account at all. Which I believed is the poorest customer service from Alpari.
2). Many platform e.g. northfinance (Fx pro) and Crown forex has one time introduced this system, but it doesn’t work out, so why Alpari is doing this for now.
3). Most indicators was build with these 4/2 decimal places e.g. pivot point calculator, so what’s Alpari is up to?
4). Sometime it takes me almost 3-4 minutes to filling in my order chart (stop order/ profit order).
5). Even after order accepted it can still give me re-quote.
6). I can’t close an order as soon as possible again due to this 5/3 d.p “IT’S WILL BE AFFECTING THE DEVIATION FROM GUOTE PRICE” I think this is serious problem!!!
7). Sometimes it normally takes me 5- 10 minutes before i can succeed in placing an order which is not like this before, and so on.
The most important aspect of these issue is that their services is very bad now, infact, I don’t know what to use to qualify the situation. Among the platform that I’m using, Alpari is the best but now is the worst since they’ve changed to this their 5/3 d.p.
These are their current language on their chart: off quote; re-quote again; timeout; No connection; invalid price (even if you filling in the correct values) and common error. If time permit me I can talk on each one of what l just mentioned above but I know that other traders will be encounters the same things problem.
I would have loved, if my favorite platform (Alpari) can seek their customer opinion/advice before their final decision/ implement the system.
Moreover, I wants you to know that without your customers no business for you. Remember that “customer always right” Also, in any business you must first thing about your customer.
All in all, my advice is that “I wants you to return to the normal one 4/2d.p and I will be watching till next week if there’s going to be positive changes.

Hi,
I had the same problems with my demo accounts where I run different tests with EA'S and indicators. Everything in vain
Although this is valid only for the demo acounts. My life account is still on 3 decimal places (the old one).
Interestingly enough when one first opens the life account (old decimals) and change than the account to demo the old decimals will be still in place.
Very irritating and even more irritating is that the support does not mention anything here.
SUPPORT WHERE ARE YOU???

we have decided to do it as a part of our STP project. We are going to offer straight through processing for the clients who are interested and 5th decimal will allow us to offer tighter spreads.

3). Most indicators was build with these 4/2 decimal places e.g. pivot point calculator, so what’s Alpari is up to?

Most indicators and EAs can be easily adpated for the 5th decimal prices.

4). Sometime it takes me almost 3-4 minutes to filling in my order chart (stop order/ profit order).

Order execution time depends on market conditions. And sometimes on the internet connection on your side. If you have any specific order in mind please email client services and we will look into it.

5). Even after order accepted it can still give me re-quote.

If the price changes while your order is still being processed then you will get a re-quote because it is not possible to trade on a price that is no longer valid.
